Problems are the engine of life, or at least one of them. Problems exist, are there at every step of the way, packed and bundled in all shapes and forms, wating along the road of our existence with one purpose only: to give you something to solve. Some problems happen on us, are created by external agents and/or factors, and others are created by ourselves. And problems are ok, they are fine and they have their purpose. Then as we face these problems we set on finding the solutions for them. If you like, it's like we find Rubik Cubes all over our lives and we go on solving them, some of them with similar solutions and others with different solutions.
The process of solving these problems can prove tiresome, stressful, difficult and sometimes we can't solve them alone. However, be it as it may, most of the problems we find in our lives are the type that can be easily solved with a simple, magic pill, easy-button solution. Yes, there are simple problems that can be solved with a simple solution. Your stockings ripped on the way to the office, so you take them off and run to the closest drugstore and buy a new pair. You spilled coffee on your shirt, so you put on your blazer for the rest of the day. You ate too much or you ate something that's blowing up your tummy and your pants hurt, so you take a rubber band, unbutton your pants or skirt, loop it through the button hole and secure the other end of the rubber band around the button. However not everything can be solved with running to the drugstore or using a rubber band.
Problems at the office can't be solved by getting the same smartphone everybody else has, problems with your love life aren't solved just by changing your dressing style, problems with your family won't be solved by going to church. Furthermore, your problems, whatever they are, won't be solved by reading a self-help book or reading an article at a magazine. The thing is that those nagging problems in our life, those that don't get to be solved at once, those that cling like a thorn to our souls, need more than just a "oh wow, that's the answer!" type of solution. Not like anyone would told you that - unless they are shrinks - because books and conferences and all sorts of classes sell by making you believe that they have found the magic pill that will erase your problems and your issues whatever they are.
Like the Rubik Cube, more often than not, our nagging problems have many faces, and as we set to solve one of them, the others move and change and become something else entirely, seemingly complicating our way towards our solution. And though we would love to lean and believe that a simple solution, a magic pill can solve all our problems, it's much better if we keep our feet on the ground and turn deaf ears to such siren calls. These 'solutions' only give a twist to our cube and makes us believe that the new mess is how the cube is supposed to look. Keep your senses, watch carefully and don't let words of promise cloud what you truly feel inside.
Complex solution aren't impossible, aren't unsolvable, aren't evil, they are just a way some problems need to be solved. So square up and get ready to tackle your cube and remember that it doesn't matter how hard it is and how many breaks you'll need to take, because in the end, when the cube is solved, you'll feel just GREAT.
