Merry Lughnasadh!

The Wheel of the Year has turned and here we are finally at the First Harvest. Indeed a day to rejoice in the fruits of our labor, but also a day to remember that we indeed reap what we sow. The land has yielded the bounty of our efforts, our work, and we can now take a moment, as we celebrate, to think how we've gotten here. Think of the effort you put into it, the steps you followed, the organization. Think of peacemaking, friends - old and new - though who have been left in the road and those who have come all the way with you to this point. The quarrels and the struggles, the anger and the heated words.

It is the moment when the actions meet their consequences. Good and bad, so don't turn a bling eye to the negative harvest, but think what kind of seeds could have you sown into the land that would bring that kind of fruit? Take a moment to decide if you want to keep reaping that kind of harvest or if you'd rather not, and then cast away those seeds, or well, avoid the type of working that has produced them.

It might also happen that you have used a good seed, you have worked really hard, but still your harvest is bitter or meager. Learn. It's okay to be sad, but as you hold tooday in your hands your harvest, learn. Think about what has happened, what other elements, situations or conditions have influenced your harvest. When you have identify them, think what can you do in your next sowing to avoid them, to protect your next harvest.

Sometimes, it also happens, that you have planted a tree in the land, and though you might wonder why hasn't is produced anything, and might feel sad thinking it's a failure, in reality it's all a matter of time. So again, learn. The Earth is wise and Patient, learn to listen, and along with it, learn to listen the rhythm that moves your life.

Blessed Be!

I totally missed to write about it, shame on me. Then again, your post was so lovely, you did work enough for the two of us. No really, your thoughts sound like something from one of the holy books - have you ever considered of creating your very own religion? you could be pope or something :D
the altar looks so delicious--- now I am hungry...

:-D Thank you, thank you! Well, there's plenty of money to be gained in founding a new religion, but knowing me my new religion wouldn't be too new nor would it make me rich. I would found the Solitary Christian sect. Or maybe the "Folk-Traditional-Solitary-Christian" religion? That would be cool!

My Lughnasadh "altar" wasn't half as cute as this one, though it was quite ok. I was very satisfied with it. :-D

Thank you for your lovely comment! I'm very glad you liked the post!
